This quilt is a great introduction to foundation paper piecing and is perfect for a confident beginner who wants to learn a new technique.
Fabric Requirements for a Throw – 61” x 75”
-2 Charm Packs containing at least 40 squares each for a total of 80 squares or 80 5” square scraps or you can use 8-9 different 1/3 yard cuts of fabric.
-3 ½ yards white-background fabric
-2 ¼ light gray-background fabric
-2/3 yard dark gray
-½ yard binding
-4 yards backing
Tools needed:
-Whirl Quilt Pattern with included template
-Sewing machine in good working order
-50 weight sewing thread
-6”x24” gridded ruler
-6”x6” gridded ruler is useful but not required
-Rotary cutter
-At least 40 sheets of foundation piecing paper, printed before class with the enclosed template
*Note, when printing templates setting printer/copier settings to “do not scale”
-Scissors
-Straight Pins
