Serger Basics - Sewing a Knit T-Shirt with Catherine Petrosino

Have you wanted to use your serger to make a knit garment, but have been afraid to try? A serger can do more than just overcast seam edges! This class is for you whether you own a 4, 5, or 8 thread serger. You will learn how to sew seams, sew on neck binding and adding elastic in the seam while using your serger. If your serger has a coverstitch option, you can learn how to sew the hems using the coverstitch and also stitching seams using the chain stitch plus the overlock. There will be an option to stitch the hems on a regular sewing machine as well.

If you don't own a serger, you can still take this class!

We will be making the Concord T-Shirt by Cashmerette which comes in sizes (0-16) or (12-32) with a variety of bra cup sizes, so please let us know which size set you need in the note section when you are checking out. This style is semi-fitted with 3 neckline options, 3 sleeve length options and 3 body length options so you can mix and match to make the perfect style for you. We will cover choosing the best pattern size based on your body measurements and bra cup size.
