The Fiore Skirt by Closet Core Patterns is perfect for the advanced beginner or intermediate sewist who would like to advance their garment sewing skills. This garment runs fairly true to size (see note below to email Catherine), has a fitted waistband and an A-line shape, so it is easy to fit. Techniques that you will learn are sewing on facings and pockets, setting a waistband, making buttonholes, and hemming on the machine. We will also cover topstitching techniques if you would like to add that to your garment. You can choose from either the wrap skirt style or the button front skirt. There will be some “homework” in between classes.

You will need to email Catherine (catherine@sewright.com) in advance of the class to discuss sizing, notions, and yardage to purchase your fabric.

Supply List:

-sewing machine in good working order w/ accessories

-basic sewing notions, scissors, marking pencil, pins

-one spool of all purpose thread

-needles size for your fabric

-1/2” buttons (2 for the wrap skirt, 6-8 for the button front skirt)

-crisp woven fabrics like linen, chambray, denim, twill, poplin or structured cottons (email Catherine for yardage / sample garment was made in chambray from Sew Right)

-1 1/4 yards of lightweight non-stretch fusible interfacing
