Join us in class to make this functional and stylish tote bag by Sallie Tomato. The tote has 2 exterior pockets, a recessed zipper top and can be made using a fusible foam. You’ll learn how to mark out your pieces on the fabric (there is no paper pattern included in the pattern instructions envelope) along with special tips for perfect topstitching and demos to show sewing techniques.

Materials needed: (can be purchased at Sew Right)

Fabric:

1/3 yard of 45” wide cotton for top panel

1 yard of 45” wide cotton for lining & pocket

1/2 yard of 45” wide cotton or denim

fusible woven interfacing like Pellon SF101:

1 1/8 yard of 25” OR 3/4 yard of 42” wide

fusible foam:

1 yard at 20” wide OR 1/2 yard of 58” wide

16” #5 zipper (closed end)

1 spool of all purpose thread

sewing machine in good working order

pins, chalk, scissors, seam ripper, basic sewing tools

zipper foot for your machine
