Quilted Jacket For Intermediate and Advanced Sewers with Catherine Petrosino
Jacket dimensions:
29" long from High Point of Shoulder (HPS)
59" across from sleeve edge to sleeve edge
41" across at bottom edge from side seam to side seam
Class 1: You will learn how to sort and cut out your pieces from the layer cake bundle, then stitch them together to form the blocks needed to make the quilt top.
Class 2: You will learn how to stitch the blocks together to make the front and back of the jacket and how to put the sleeve together.
Class 3: You will learn how to piece your backing, then layer your quilt top, batting and backing to prepare for sewing. Then you will quilt the layers together on your machine.
Class 4: Sewing on the binding to finish the edges using both techniques of hand and machine sewing.
Please note:
This class is broken down into four 3 hour classes and there will be homework to complete in between each class.
All instructions to make the jacket will be provided in class.
Sewing level - advanced beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Materials needed:
1 layer cake bundle (42 pieces of 10" x 10" precut fabric)
3/4 yard of 45” wide cotton fabric for binding
2 1/2 yards of 45” wide cotton fabric for backing
65” x 65” lightweight cotton batting
cotton quilting thread such as Aurifil or Mettler
rotary cutter and mat
6” x 24” quilting ruler
1/4” patchwork foot and a walking foot for your machine
sewing machine and basic sewing tools
