This is the perfect quilt project for a beginner or advanced beginner sewist. Quilt as you go, means exactly that - you are making the quilt top while layering the batting and backing fabrics all in one. The size of the runner is 62" long x 17" wide for a long dining table, but it can be made smaller if needed. If you would like to change the size of the runner, please email me before the first class so that I can rework the sizing for you. You can purchase the supplies you need at Sew Right - we have everything!

Would you like to learn how to do your own hems on your clothes? If so, then you will learn a few basic techniques for hemming using your sewing machine. This class will cover how to sew a blindstitch hem, a jean hem and a rolled hem. We will also demonstrate how to mark a jean/pant hem and answer all of your hemming questions. First you will practice sewing each hem using your machine on cotton fabric and then you will use your new knowledge to hem a garment of your own. Sewing experience is required. If you need a machine for class, please let us know in advance.

This workshop is for you if you are making your own clothes, but the end product still doesn't fit correctly. We will explore what to look for in relation to the fit of a garment, such as balance and proportion, and learn how you can correct your pattern. Each student must bring a garment (or muslin) that they have made to try on in class along with their commercial pattern. Catherine will review each garment on the student (be prepared to try your garment on in class) and discuss how it needs to be corrected. Then she will teach each student how to make that correction on their pattern. All materials needed are included in the cost of the class. Take your sewing to the next level with our Open Level Garment Sewing Class and learn what you want to learn! This class is for you whether you are a beginner sewist ready to start sewing your first garment and don't know how to begin or if you are an intermediate sewist that needs specific help with a project you are working on. Bring in all materials needed for your project as you must work from a commercial pattern. If you have any questions about your project, please contact Catherine at in advance. You must know how to operate a sewing machine. Class size is limited to 4 students. 3 hours long.

Don't want to drag out your embroidery machine? Here's an opportunity to create a beautiful bag while sewing at home! This in -the- hoop project creates a beautiful little clutch for yourself or as a gift. It is so simple to create that you will want to make more than one. An alternative embroidery file is offered to personalize the item with a monogram. Class Fee includes the design and instructions. We will contact you with an invitation code once you are registered for the class.

Learn the foundations of sewing in our Beginner Sewing Class by making a reversible tote bag. The class will begin with learning how to operate your sewing machine through the proper threading techniques and then learning how to sew straight seams. From there, we will instruct you on how to lay out your pattern pieces on the fabric, cutting them out and then pinning the pieces together before sewing your tote bag. Class size is limited to 4 students. Machines are available for use during class or you can bring your own.

Do you own a machine that is still sitting in the box or need a refresher because you haven?t sewn in a while? Bring it in to learn how to operate your sewing machine! You will learn the correct way to wind a bobbin, how to thread your machine and the proper way to operate the machine to keep from losing your thread. Once your machine is threaded, you will learn basic sewing techniques. We will provide the fabric needed to practice your sewing skills. 1 1/2 hours long. If you need a machine for class, we can provide one for you.

Using specialty rulers created by Deb Tucker, this quilt is easily created. Perfect points every time. You will just love your end results. And, you are not limited to one particular layout. I will show you different variations you can achieve with the same constructed block. First class we will discuss your options of design and start cutting. Second and third classes we will sew the blocks and begin the layout Fourth class we will finish the quilt top and discuss your quilting options.

The Skipping Stones table runner created by Joan Louise Clemons, is a wonderful and versatile piece that can be made for any season. The construction gives you a glimpse of how bargello quilts are created. You will complete the runner top during class.This project is good for the Beginner and the Advanced Beginner sewist. The pattern is included in the class fee.

This beautiful quilt, designed by Edyta Sitar, is loaded with sampler blocks and fusible appliqué. Start this quilt adventure late August and finish in time for the holidays. It is a good project to make use of your red and green scrapes that you may have in your stash or follow the fabric requirements below. Supplies and Pattern to be purchased by student. Pattern will be ordered by Sew Right.

If your child is a beginner, they will learn basic skills of cutting and pinning their fabric along with operating a sewing machine to make a cross body bag. If your child has already been sewing, they will continue to improve their sewing skills by making a garment or accessory from our pattern collection that they can complete within the 3 hour workshop. If your child is at an intermediate skill level, they can choose a more difficult garment, but may need multiple workshops in order to complete the project. Classes are small and have a 1 teacher to 3 student ratio. This is a 3 hour workshop. All materials needed for the class are included in the cost of the workshop.
